I'm a Warsaw-based journalist, occasional photographer and a former CEE correspondent with Reuters.

I cover news, humanitarian crises, and social and political issues in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and beyond. Between 2018 and 2021 I was based in Uzbekistan. For my work I was declared persona non grata and banned from entering the country. My non-fiction book Nowy Uzbekistan ("New Uzbekistan"), which focuses on changes that have taken place in the country since the coming to power of president Shavkat Mirziyoyev was published in August 2023 by the Polish Wydawnictwo Czarne.

In the past I worked as an editor with the New Eastern Europe magazine and as a caseworker with various NGOs supporting migrants in Ireland and the UK. I'm also co-editor of two academic books on the war in Ukraine (check the "Books" section).

I hold a double MA degree in International Relations and International Relations in Eurasia from the University of Kent, UK, and the Higher School of Economic, Russia, and a BA in International Relations with Politics from the University of Westminster.
